Furikake

Japanese furikake is a seasoning used to enhance white rice and other dishes. It typically consists of sesame seeds, seaweed, dried fish (smoked bonito, mackerel, anchovies...), salt, and sometimes sugar. Furikake is rich in umami and is often crunchy due to the sesame used.

It is used mainly by sprinkling it on freshly cooked rice, but it can also find its place in salads, on scrambled eggs or in an omelet, noodles, or soups. Its different forms and various uses make it a versatile and truly delicious seasoning!
