Natto du Dragon
A natto made to order in France by enthusiasts known as Natto du Dragon. Unlike natto from Japan, it is organic and has never been frozen. There are many mysteries and fears surrounding natto! These cooked and fermented soybeans are not so bad, especially for us French cheese lovers. In any case, at Umai, we love their little coffee flavor, their soft texture, and the sense of well-being they bring. Yet, it must be acknowledged that natto is controversial even in Japan.
First, a bit of history. Legend has it that natto was born in northern Japan nearly a thousand years ago during a military campaign: surprised by the enemy during a bivouac, warriors threw the soybeans they were cooking into straw bags. A few days later, they found these beans had become slimy and rich, and they appreciated the flavor. One thing is for sure: natto is indeed a samurai food.
Traditionally, it is served for breakfast over a bowl of white rice with a splash of soy sauce and a dab of mustard. In this form, it satisfies for long hours, boosts morale, and strengthens the body. Because if superfoods truly exist, natto is certainly one of them. Numerous scientific studies suggest that natto reduces the risk of diseases, particularly cardiovascular diseases, as well as cancer. It is said to be good for bone health, the digestive system, and the immune system.
Outside of any scientific framework, some enthusiasts swear it gives a healthy glow and makes varicose veins disappear... In any case, natto is packed with proteins, minerals, and proteins. Come on, don’t be intimidated by such small beans.
