Organic Genmaicha "Masami"
Very popular in Japan, genmaicha is a type of green tea, either sencha or bancha, mixed with roasted brown rice (genmaicha literally means "brown rice tea") or even puffed rice. Sometimes referred to as "popcorn tea" or "yellow tea," it is recognizable by its roasted cereal notes that give it a delicate flavor.
Grown in regions of Japan with a mild climate (such as the subtropical island of Kyushu), genmaicha was once considered the tea of the poor because it was "cut" with rice. Today, it is one of the most consumed teas in Japan, enjoyed year-round, from morning to evening.
Tonic but low in caffeine, genmaicha aids digestion and pairs ideally with meals, especially fish and seafood. Refreshing, it provides the body with gentle energy, and its characteristic vegetal and malty taste generally appeals to those who find the astringency of green tea off-putting.
Usage:
1- Add 8 to 10g of genmaicha tea for 2 cups of tea in a teapot with a filter.
2- Boil water.
3- Pour the water directly into the teapot.
4- Wait 30 seconds without stirring.
5- Slowly pour the tea into your cups until the last drop.
This tea can be infused two to three times.
